The diamond

Diamonds not only grow in the core of earth. They grow at some other places too. One such grew at an edge. Its cause of existence was unknown to me but was hidden amongst lot of grey matter surrounded by tubes carrying energy. Ambient conditions would have been provided by the owner of the grey matter by their own wish for the growth of this diamond. It grew like the drop of water from a leaking tap. It was travelling, sitting on the edge, between two stations growing throughout the journey and I had the honour to witness this spectacle. It grew within the pace of few minutes. It sat there, when it reached its prime, not knowing what next. Suddenly, the driver applied the brakes and the diamond fell from the edge of her eye and shattered , untraceable to the owner of the diamond.

The souvenir

It was his last day. He stood besides the tracks. He has been hearing the rattling of the tracks ever since he was born, now for the last time perhaps. He found no scope of a return. He kept them on the tracks and awaited the train. It will be there in another ten minutes.
Change is inevitable. He was trying to cope up with it, but it has been really tough. Departing with what was his dear. But he consoled himself with the sweet memories that will remain. But still he aspired for something more. Then the idea; he has read it from the books that he used to take from chacha's scrapshop. Why not try it; it will be a souvenir, in memory of the change.
He pressed his hears on to the tracks. Lo! here comes the train. He prayed to the unknown gods that everything goes well. The train was fast approaching and he was worried that the tremble of the tracks would shatter his need. It came with a gust of wind, disturbing the harmony of his neatly parted oily hair. He stood there just hoping that he would get what he wanted. And when the gust of wind ended abruptly, there were two of them shining under the morning sun on the tracks, which were once upon a time one rupee coins. He hurried to find whether they were magnetised, but no, they weren't. No, he wasn't sad; he wanted a souvenir and that he has, two elongated coins which are not worth in the outside world, but of worth, for him. He would give one to his friend and the other , he would keep for himself; to face the change, the change of shelter to the newly built ones of the government, with memories of a childhood happily spent and with the sorrow that he had to depart with it.

The rush of adrenaline

Two of my friends updated their Facebook status somedays back expressing their liking for writng exams, with one of them going to extent of expressing the thrill of going unprepeared, writing the exams for three hours and coming out with flying colours. Well, of course, both these people were class toppers during their academic years and were cause of jealousy among the lesser mortals. Coming to the rush of adrenaline, personally, I never felt this rush; in fact, it was not the adrenaline that was rushing but the time before the exams and afterwards the time left for finishing the paper.
Maybe, it all lies in what we expect from the results. The fear of exams arises from the fact that we fail to clear it may mean the end of many things. Only three persons can go for the exams without any tension; one who knows everything, because he is confident that he will come out successfully, one who knows nothing because he is confident that he will fail and the third, one who expects nothing because he is confident that the result is not going to deter him from what he wants to be. The common thing among all three is the confidence and I believe that it is one factor that decides. Most of the fear today arises from pressure from all sides and the inability to handle the pressure. But if the person is allowed to pursue what he/she wants, then the there is no question of pressure. He will display a unique calmness in getting things done successfully.
Finally it is always easy to talk all this but equally tough to implement.
By the way, my friend seems to be taking a test; all the best mate.
